Lizzie Poland is a 26-year-old artist who has dedicated her life to creating, preserving, and providing access to art.
Her childhood cardboard craft projects grew into a full-time passion, as she graduated with a B.A. in Art History and Studio Art from the University of Connecticut in May 2020. Lizzie's work has been featured at a youth gallery at the Orange Case Memorial Library, permanently installed in the halls of the Peck Place Elementary School and in the library at Amity Middle School Orange, and in numerous exhibitions throughout Amity High School and the Woodbridge Public Library. During her secondary school years, she was the president of the National Art Honor Society and received the Connecticut High School Fine Arts Award. During her collegiate career, she received the Maria Yatrakis Fine Arts Scholarship twice. Two of her paintings have been featured in UConn's Long River Review Literary Magazine, and in Simmons University's Panopticon digital art show. Lizzie graduated with her Masters of Library and Information Science from Simmons University in August 2023. She is the new Museum Curator at Weir Farm National Historical Park in Wilton, CT. When she is not at work, she is painting with acrylic, creating monotype prints with sculpture, and sewing vintage clothing. |
